Inner Crown Of Peace

1 Kings 1:22-27 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Kings 1 in context

Scripture Focus

22And, lo, while she yet talked with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in.
23And they told the king, saying, Behold Nathan the prophet. And when he was come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.
24And Nathan said, My lord, O king, hast thou said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne?
25For he is gone down this day, and hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the king's sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah.
26But me, even me thy servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and thy servant Solomon, hath he not called.
27Is this thing done by my lord the king, and thou hast not shewed it unto thy servant, who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?
1 Kings 1:22-27

Biblical Context

The scene shows Adonijah’s bid for the throne interrupted by Nathan’s entry, revealing a rightful heir and the inner call to rightful rule.

Neville's Inner Vision

Interpret the scene as a psalm of consciousness. The king on the throne is not a name on a scroll but the state of awareness you call your own. Adonijah’s triumphal feast and the chorus of supporters are the ego’s attempt to secure external legitimacy, a rehearsal of a future you have not yet imagined into being. Nathan the prophet is the inner voice of wisdom, bowing in recognition of the rightful ruler and asking you to declare, not appoint, who shall reign. The question, 'Is this thing done by my lord the king?' becomes a mirror for your own mind: whom do you recognize as ruler—the impulse of fear and craving, or the established presence of your I AM? When you perceive Solomon—your quiet, discerning self—as already seated, the outward events align with that inner decree. The Kingdom of God, in this reading, is not a plot twist but a present posture of consciousness, awaiting your assumption. The drama ends when you revise the scene inwardly, lifting the throne from ego to the unwavering I AM.

Practice This Now

Assume the end: the king sits on the throne now. Feel the inner Solomon ruling your life and listen for the Nathan within guiding your choices.
