Inner Victory Through Faith

1 John 5:4-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 John 5 in context

Scripture Focus

4For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
1 John 5:4-5

Biblical Context

Those born of God overcome the world, and their faith is the victory. The one who overcomes believes Jesus is the Son of God.

Neville's Inner Vision

All things begin in consciousness. To be born of God is to recognize you are that state which cannot be diminished by the world. The victory over the world is the inward acknowledgment that you are the I AM, the living Christ within, and faith is the very act that seals reality to that state. When you believe that the Son of God dwells in you, you refuse to react from fear; you hold the line of your inner conviction and the outer appears to conform. The world is not changed by changing its weather, but by changing your sense of being. Thus, victory is achieved by a simple shift: imagine yourself as already victorious, feel the joy of that fact, and let the world bend to your inner decree.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare, I AM within me. Then imagine yourself already victorious and let that feeling settle as your present reality.
