Read 1 John 5 in context

Scripture Focus

20And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
21Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
1 John 5:20-21

Biblical Context

John declares that the Son of God has come and given us understanding to know the true God, and that we dwell in Him through Jesus Christ. He warns us to keep yourselves from idols.

Neville's Inner Vision

To Neville, the Son of God is the living consciousness that has entered your mind as a new state of awareness. The verse says you have been given understanding so you may know Him who is true, and that you are in Him who is true—inside His Christ within. This is not a distant doctrine but a present perception: to be in the true God is to acknowledge that your I AM, your awareness, already dwells where truth resides. Idols are not merely statues but false identities—images of lack, fear, or separation you have accepted as reality. The invitation is to revise your inner scene until your experience confirms the truth: you are in Him, you are one with the eternal life that flows from consciousness. Every event in your life then serves as a sign that your inner state is choosing truth over illusion, and your life becomes the manifestation of the true God here and now.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the truth: I am in the true God, and I know Him who is true; I dwell in His Son Jesus Christ. Feel this as present sensation now, and gently release any idol image by returning to this state.
