Inner Petition Realized

1 John 5:14-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 John 5 in context

Scripture Focus

14And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
1 John 5:14-15

Biblical Context

We may approach God with confidence when our requests align with His will. If He hears us, we can know we have received the petitions we asked for.

Neville's Inner Vision

When you read this verse, you must see that God is your I AM, the awareness that in you is the power to form your world. The 'will' spoken of is not an external decree but your inner alignment—the moment your mind consents to the assumption that what you desire is already yours. If you assume in the quiet of your chest that the hearing is already done, your inner ear registers the yes, and the outer events follow as the materialization of your conviction. Do not seek the what outside, seek the state inside: confidence that God hears you, and the knowing that the petition is granted because you are in harmony with the eternal will within. Practice consistent revising of thoughts that contradict this, and cultivate the feeling of completion now, not later. Your petitions become visible as you dwell in the assumption and let your gratitude precede the form.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, assume the state: 'I am the having of my desire.' Feel the reality now, revise any doubt, and let gratitude greet the form as if it already stands before you.
