1 John 5:10-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 John 5 in context

Scripture Focus

10He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
1 John 5:10-12

Biblical Context

The passage says that believing in the Son bears witness in you. God grants eternal life, and that life resides in the Son.

Neville's Inner Vision

Belief in the Son is not a distant creed but the living witness within you. When you say you believe on the Son, you awaken a witness that already resides in the I AM you. The record God gave of his Son is the inner light you carry as awareness; eternal life is not a future prize but the vitality available the moment you identify with that inner Son. Therefore to have the Son is to have life, and to lack the Son is to imagine life apart from awareness. Your task is to revise your sense of self until you feel the presence of that life as now. Practice with the feeling that the Son is the living center of your being, and your world will reflect a new consistency of presence. The mind can reveal that the witness in you is proof of the life that God has placed within you, a life whose home is the I AM.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, and assume you are already the one who has the Son. Say to yourself, I have eternal life now, and feel the living presence of the Son within.
