Inner Dwelling and Savior Presence
1 John 4:14-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 John 4 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage testifies that God sent the Son to be the savior of the world, and that those who confess Jesus as the Son of God have God dwelling in them and they in God.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this verse, the Father is not a distant figure but the I AM, the living awareness within you. To say the Son was sent is to acknowledge the Christ within—an inner savior that rescues you from fear and sense of separation. We testify that this inner savior is present now, not as a future event but as a realized state of consciousness. When you confess that Jesus is the Son of God, you are declaring your readiness to align with the truth that God dwells in you and you in God; this is not a memory but a present relationship that awakens the indwelling presence. The world you seek to save is the world of your own thoughts and feelings; salvation comes as you rest in the oneness of being, letting the awareness that God and I are one govern every sensation and thought. The inner kingdom becomes your experience to the extent you cultivate this unbroken identification with divine presence.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, repeat inwardly: 'God dwells in me, and I in God.' Feel the presence as a warm, living reality in your chest, and carry that assurance into daily moments as the basis of action.
