Inner Righteousness Unveiled

1 John 3:7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 John 3 in context

Scripture Focus

7Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
1 John 3:7

Biblical Context

1 John 3:7 declares that those who practice righteousness are righteous, aligning outward acts with an inner state. It also warns us not to be deceived by appearances.

Neville's Inner Vision

To him who asks, the call is not to imitate outward pieties but to yield to the awareness I AM that lies within. 'Little children' is the invitation to awaken to a state you already possess. When you say, 'he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous,' you are not judging another; you are recognizing that you are already living from the same divine stance. Righteousness here is not a rule to enforce but an inner alignment—a stabilization of your consciousness in the feeling and certainty of your true nature. Deception comes when you mistake appearances for reality; the real reality is the consciousness that remains untouched by appearances. By assuming the feeling of the fulfilled state, you stop chasing results and begin reflecting the state that produced them. As you dwell in the I AM, every action born there will appear as Christlike conduct: purity, integrity, truthfulness, obedience to that inner law. The world around you becomes a sign of your inner righteousness rather than its cause.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and repeat, 'I am the I AM, and righteousness is my present state.' Then visualize a simple situation where you respond with truth and integrity, and feel the reality of that state now.
