Abide in Him, See Him

1 John 3:6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 John 3 in context

Scripture Focus

6Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
1 John 3:6

Biblical Context

Plainly, the verse says that those who abide in Christ do not sin; those who sin have not seen or known Him. It invites a shift in consciousness where the I AM presence is recognized as the true self.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the verse as an inner law written into your state of consciousness. To abide in Him is to dwell in the awareness of the I AM within, and sin arises only when you identify with a separate self. When you truly see and know Him—by assuming His reality as your own—you immediately cease acting from that sense of separation. The one who lives in conscious union with Christ does not need to judge himself by past sins, for the I AM redefines what 'self' means. Sin is not a moral verdict; it is a misalignment of perception. As you maintain the inner vision of Christ, all your outer events begin to reflect that knowing. Your world becomes the stage where you are present to Him, and thus you are present in Him. The shift is practical: your inner footprint, not external rules, determines behavior. The heart changes when the mind accepts the truth that you are already that presence.

Practice This Now

Assume the state 'I am in Christ, I see and know Him now,' and dwell there until the feeling of separation dissolves. Repeat slowly with each breath for a few minutes to make it real.
