Dwelling In Him Now
1 John 3:24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 John 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Keep God's commandments and you stay united with Him. His presence dwells in you, and you recognize this through the Spirit He has given.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Neville, the verse does not command outward rule but inward alignment. 'Keeping commandments' means faithfully maintaining an inner order—the I AM awareness—that mirrors the divine law. When you hold this inner posture, you dwell in Him, and He dwells in you; the Spirit He has given is the flame of your own consciousness, not a distant force. The Spirit is your awareness, a living conviction that you are eternally joined to the Source as you revise your sense of self. If you imagine yourself already in this unity, you will feel the mutual indwelling: you in Him and He in you. The external commandments then reflect your state, not the other way around. Practice is simple: assume you are already sustained by the inner law; feel it in the chest, orient your thoughts to this truth, and let the sense of presence rise as real as breath. Your faithfulness is not a duty but a returning to the one reality you already are: alive, seen, and held by God.
Practice This Now
Imitate the inner stance by assuming the sentence, 'I am dwelling in Him and He in me, by the Spirit given to me,' for a few minutes today and feel the presence as real.
