Dwelling In God: 1 John 3:23-24
1 John 3:23-24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 John 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verses command belief in Jesus and love for one another; those who keep these commandments dwell in God and God dwells in them by the Spirit.
Neville's Inner Vision
Belief here is not mere assent but a turning of consciousness toward the Name of Jesus—the Christ within. To love one another is to recognize the same divine presence in every person, dissolving fear and separation. The command to keep the commandments is the invitation to dwell in Him, and Him in you; this is the inner mutual indwelling, the I AM circulating through all you think, say, and do. By the Spirit He has given, you know this reality not by outward proof but by a quiet harmony, trust, and generous action flowing from that center. When you live from that inner state, obedience becomes effortless, and the outer world mirrors your internal unity with God. Acknowledge the I AM in you as the source of all you love, and you are fulfilled in the knowledge that God abides in you and you in Him.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the inner fact: I believe on the Name of Jesus Christ, and I love one another; I dwell in God, and God dwells in me. Feel the Spirit’s presence as a warm, still current within.
