Dwelling In His Commandments

1 John 3:22-24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 John 3 in context

Scripture Focus

22And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
23And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
24And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
1 John 3:22-24

Biblical Context

When we keep His commandments and walk in love, our prayers are answered. Dwelling in Him is proven by the Spirit He has given us.

Neville's Inner Vision

See the verse as a map of your inner state. God is the I AM you awaken to, and the commandments are not distant rules but the alignment of your consciousness with the living Son within—your true identity. When you assume that you already inhabit this state, your prayers no longer go outward but arise from the mind that dwells in Him. The Spirit He has given you is the inner proof that He abides in you and you in Him, a felt sense of unity rather than a distant promise. Your receiving is a revision of belief, not a change of scenery; as you tighten the sense of being connected to love, the outer world shifts to reflect that inward consent. The commandment to love becomes the instrument through which you practice faith and trust, sustaining the mood of dwelling. Therefore, what you ask for is granted because you refuse to entertain separation and remain conscious of the already-present unity.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: assume you already live in that state of obedience and love, feel it as your present reality for a minute now, and watch the inner doubt melt. Let that feeling linger until it colors your next choice.
