Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verses claim that prayers are answered when we keep God's commandments and act in ways pleasing to Him. Specifically, they call us to believe in the name of Jesus Christ and to love one another.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through Neville’s lens, this text reveals the inner law by which prayers are made manifest. God is not distant but the I AM within you, the conscious awareness that shapes your world. 'Whatsoever we ask' arises when your inner being lives in harmony with the law you call commandments—not external rules, but immutable principles: steadfast belief in the Christ within and a love that seeks the good of all. To 'keep his commandments' is to dwell in the state of being that aligns with unity and integrity; to 'believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ' is to recognize and identify with the Christ-identity inside you, the self you are when fully present to the I AM. Then, 'and love one another' becomes the radiant expression of that inner state, drawing your desires into experience because you are living from the end of divine order. When you maintain this image, prayers appear as the world rearranges to fit your inner reality, and you move, almost effortlessly, into the evidence of your faith.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the wish fulfilled now: feel the inner state of believing in the Christ within and loving others as you would love yourself. Stay with that feeling until it is as real as the breath you take, then proceed with your day.
