19And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
1 John 3:19

Biblical Context

This verse states that when our inner state aligns with truth, we may know we belong to it. In that knowing, our hearts are reassured before God.

Neville's Inner Vision

To know you are of the truth is to enter a state rather than seek a sign. The writer points you to the inner alignment of consciousness: when your I AM is at one with the truth you claim, doubt dissolves and the heart takes on fearless rest before God. You are not proving something to God; you are returning to the reality of your own being. The assurance arises as you stop projecting your life into the future or past and instead dwell in the present sense of I AM, which is truth itself. Thus, the heart’s verdict is not earned by deeds, but by a deliberate identification with the truth of your being, here and now. Practice invites you to claim this as your lived reality: assume you belong to the truth, revising every feeling of separation until you feel the glow of the I AM around and within your chest. In that glow, God—the warm awareness that you are—stands with you, and your heart rests in certainty.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and repeat inwardly, 'I am the truth; I belong to the truth.' Then imagine the I AM within embracing your heart, radiating calm, and feel your heart respond with certainty—present-tense assurance before God.
