Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the inner sight, this verse does not command a future virtue but reveals your present state. The children of God are those who live from the consciousness of righteousness and neighbor-love. The 'devil' is the outgrown self that believes separation and acts from fear; to know which you are, look at your present acts: do you forgive, do you serve, do you treat another as kin? The message heard from the beginning— that we should love one another—points to an invariant law of consciousness: your inner state births your outward world. When you imagine yourself as the I AM that loves and judges nothing, you begin to align with the state where love is natural and justice flows. The outer world then mirrors your inner decision; to revise requires no outward change first, only a shift of the assumption. If you feel distant from a brother, refuse that feeling; replace it with the reverberating truth: I am love in action; I am righteousness incarnate; my life demonstrates this now. Once you dwell in that state, righteousness becomes the atmosphere you wear, and love becomes the behavior you see in others as your own reflection.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: sit quietly and assume the state 'I am love and righteousness' now. Imagine greeting a neighbor with genuine kindness, and feel the inner shift as if you already are that presence.
