Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Those who live righteously and love their neighbor prove they belong to God; those who do not are not of God.
Neville's Inner Vision
1 John 3:10 is a map of inner states, not external labels. When you rest in the I AM that you are, righteousness becomes your natural atmosphere and love for your brother your ordinary expression. The 'children of God' are those whose inner life aligns with divine nature; the 'children of the devil' are those who persist in fear, separation, or judgment. To say you do not do righteousness or do not love your brother points to a counterfeit state of consciousness, one that imagines separation from God or from another. The healing truth is that God is the I AM within you, and your kindness toward another is merely the outward manifestation of that awareness. By shifting your inner conviction to oneness—seeing yourself and others as one—you rewrite the entire experience. Therefore, you are a child of God by your inner state, and your outer world follows from that truth.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and assume the state of righteousness as your immediate awareness; imagine your brother bathed in love and feel that love circulating in your own being for a few minutes, letting it feel real.
