Present Sonship Realized

1 John 3:1-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 John 3 in context

Scripture Focus

1Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
1 John 3:1-3

Biblical Context

Behold an identity gift: we are called the sons of God because of divine love. The world doesn’t recognize this inner truth yet.

Neville's Inner Vision

Let the Father’s love appear as the solid I AM within you, for you are already the son in your inner state. The world’s lack of recognition is the external curtain; inside, you know Him as the I AM that you are. When you say to yourself, 'Beloved, now are we the sons of God,' you align your consciousness with the future appearing as present. The appearing the verse speaks of is an inner revelation, not a timetable; it is the moment you fully identify with the divine likeness and refuse to accept anything less. Your hope to see Him as He is purifies your thoughts, renouncing fear and lack. By feeling the truth of your sonship now, you become the image you seek, and what you imagine inwardly grows outwardly in time. So you are not waiting on God to come; you are awakening to God within, and that awakening is your purification.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the identity: 'I am the beloved son of God now.' Feel the I AM as your own presence; let that feeling soften fear and purify your day.
