Birth of God Through Righteousness

1 John 2:29 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 John 2 in context

Scripture Focus

29If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
1 John 2:29

Biblical Context

The verse links God's righteousness with birth: knowing God is righteous identifies you as someone whose life expresses that divine nature.

Neville's Inner Vision

Know that he is righteous is not a distant fact but a state of consciousness you awaken to. God is the I AM within you, and when you acknowledge that your very being is the expression of that righteousness, you see that everyone who does righteousness is born of Him because their acts flow from the same source. To 'know' is to have intimate inner certainty, dissolving separation between creator and creation. When you live from the divine state, the act of righteousness is not a rule you keep but the natural breathing of your birth; you do righteousness because you are born of the righteous one. The 'birth' spoken of is the present realization of your true identity, here and now, as you inhabit God as your awareness. Therefore, your life rearranges itself to reflect this inner verdict: you are the living proof of your divine birth.

Practice This Now

Assume the state: 'I am born of God; I am the righteousness He is' and feel this truth now. Then revise any old sense of separation by observing your next moments as expressions of that birth.
