Abiding in the Inner Life

1 John 2:24-25 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 John 2 in context

Scripture Focus

24Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
25And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
1 John 2:24-25

Biblical Context

The verse invites you to keep the truth you heard from the beginning alive within you. By doing so you remain united with the Son and the Father, and the promise is eternal life.

Neville's Inner Vision

That which ye have heard from the beginning is not distant history but the memory of your I AM—the monadic state of awareness you already are. Abiding in you means choosing to dwell in that state now, letting it govern every thought, feeling, and perception. If that seed remains alive, you shall continue in the Son and the Father—the inner alignment of life with its Source. The Son and the Father are stages of consciousness, not separate persons; the inner Word and the Presence together express the one Life. Eternal life then is not a future reward but the constant livingness of God present within you. The beginning refers to the first assumption you made about who you are; keep it alive by attention, by turning back to the feeling of I AM and the sense of unity with the divine. Practice requires no external ritual—only an inner return to your true state, a reinvestment in the conviction that you are the One Life, already united with Son and Father, now.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly and assume, 'I am abiding in the Son and the Father; I have eternal life now.' Feel the truth as a present sensation and hold that feeling for several minutes, letting reality rearrange itself to reflect it.
