Acknowledge Sin, Embrace Truth

1 John 1:8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 John 1 in context

Scripture Focus

8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1 John 1:8

Biblical Context

The verse warns that claiming we have no sin is self-deception. Acknowledging our human condition opens us to truth.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of sin not as a distant failure but as a misalignment of your inner state with your I AM. To say, 'I have no sin,' is to pretend your consciousness is fixed and flawless; such denial cuts you off from the living truth that your awareness is ever awake and capable of turning toward light. In Neville’s method, you are the I AM, and every thought, feeling, and moment is a movement within you. When denial arises, observe the inner movement without judgment and revise it: declare that you are willing to be shown the truth, that you are not abandoned by the light within. By the act of revision, you shift your state to one of truth—loving, forgiving, and guiding you back to alignment. The truth is not outside you; it is your awareness itself, and it heals what seems to be broken as you dwell in the end that you are already drawn into the reality of perfect life by the I AM.

Practice This Now

Revise by stating, 'I acknowledge my sin as misperception and invite the truth of I AM to heal me now.' Then feel the release as the inner light expands.
