Joy Fully Written Within

1 John 1:4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 John 1 in context

Scripture Focus

4And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
1 John 1:4

Biblical Context

John writes to you that these things are shared so your joy may be full. Joy becomes the natural outcome when your inner awareness rests in fullness.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this verse, the writer does not request the world to grant joy; he records a decree your awareness can realize. Your joy is not an external target but a state of consciousness you allow to rise as you attend to the inner movements of your I AM. These words point to a shift of attention from lack to fullness; when you inhabit the feeling that you already possess joy, every circumstance reflects that fullness back to you. The verse invites you to cease chasing joy as a future payoff and begin permitting it as your present reality. Practice shifting attention from external events and observe how your inner state answers with fullness, peace, and gratitude. Persisting in this, the sense of joy deepens, and life becomes a continuous praise. Joy is thus not the consequence of events but the condition of perceiving the world through the I AM that you are.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume the state of joy as your natural condition. Repeat, 'I am joy, I am fullness,' until it feels real, then carry that feeling into your day.
