Inner Fellowship With God

1 John 1:3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 John 1 in context

Scripture Focus

3That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
1 John 1:3

Biblical Context

John says what has been seen and heard should be declared so others may have fellowship with us. That fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.

Neville's Inner Vision

To Neville's ear, the words reveal not a distant church but an inner fellowship—the meeting of your I AM with the Father within and with the Christ within you. 'What we have seen and heard' are the impressions of your inner sight, the images your imagination casts on the screen of consciousness. 'That ye also may have fellowship with us' means you may join the inner circle of this awareness by living from its state rather than from lack. The phrase 'our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ' points to a single reality: God is your I AM-consciousness, and Christ is the living expression of that consciousness in form. You enter into this fellowship by assuming the feeling of being already with them—in unity, safety, and love. The external world is a reflection of your inner alignment, so when you cultivate a steady sense of oneness, the people and events around you align with that state. Your imagination becomes the doorway through which God and Christ stand present, and your daily life bears witness to that sacred companionship.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: In stillness, imagine the inner circle—consciousness, Father, and Jesus Christ—then repeat, 'I am in fellowship with the Father and His Son,' letting the feeling of oneness sink into your bones. Do this daily until you experience the sense of belonging as your constant state.
