1 John 1:1-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 John 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage declares that the Word of life was heard, seen, and touched, so that believers may share in fellowship with God and with one another, resulting in full joy.
Neville's Inner Vision
That which was from the beginning is not a distant history but your present awareness. The Word of life calls you to awaken to life as a living idea within your own consciousness. When John writes that he heard, saw, and handled, he is describing the inner process by which you acknowledge the living presence that animates your experience. The life manifested is the eternal life dwelling with the Father, shining through your current state of mind as you stop projecting life as something outside you. Your true fellowship is with the Father and His Son within, not with a distant crowd; this inner bond is the source of unity with others who share the same awakening. By testifying to what you now recognize, you invite others into the same light. The result is joy—joy not produced by circumstance but by the realization that life is now, and you are the conduit through which it is declared in your world. The prologue is your invitation to awaken to the I AM behind your seeing and hearing.
Practice This Now
Practice: Close your eyes and assume the state of in-fellowship with the Father and His Son; silently declare, 'I am life, I hear, I see, I touch the Word of Life within me,' and rest in that feeling until joy wells up now.
