One God Within Awakening

1 Corinthians 8:4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 8 in context

Scripture Focus

4As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.
1 Corinthians 8:4

Biblical Context

Paul says that idols are nothing in the world, and there is only one God.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider that the idol is not a deity in the world but a symbol of a conditioned belief within you. When you eat what is offered to idols, you are not being fed by a rival god; you are choosing the state of consciousness you inhabit. Paul's point is not about dietary law but about the reality you accept as true. There is only one God, and this One God is your I AM—your present awareness. If you find yourself drawn to the symbol of power in the world, name it as empty and non-existent in truth, and then turn your gaze to the one living reality within: the I AM that you are. In this turning, the idol loses its grip because you know you are larger than any image. The world's idols vanish when the inner truth is seen, and your daily experience aligns with unity rather than allegiance to illusion. Your imagination, rightly claimed, declares that there is only the One.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, breathe, place a hand on your chest, and declare there is only one God within me—the I AM. Feel this certainty as your present state, and revise any idol into this inner reality.
