Time Is Short Within

1 Corinthians 7:29-31 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 7 in context

Scripture Focus

29But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;
30And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not;
31And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.
1 Corinthians 7:29-31

Biblical Context

Paul says the time is short and worldly conditions should be treated as if binding little. He urges detachment from marriage, tears, joy, wealth, and the world, for the fashion of this world passes away.

Neville's Inner Vision

See this verse as a map of your inner life. The call that 'the time is short' refers to a shift in awareness, where you awaken to the I AM that never changes. 'They that have wives' or 'they that weep' or 'they that rejoice' are not external facts but states of mind you entertain. To be as though they had none is to refuse to identify with any particular condition; you stand in the consciousness that you are the I AM, the steady observer who creates reality by assumption. 'They that buy' or 'they that use this world' become gentle guides: use the world, but do not let it master you. The warning that 'the fashion of this world passeth away' invites you to seek permanence in inner reality rather than outer sensation. When you revise your sense of lack or abundance, your world rearranges to match. Your future is the vibrational pattern you entertain now, not a distant event; therefore, hold a present-tense image of fulfillment and dwell there until it becomes your experience.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume the I AM as your sole reality and feel it real that supply and peace are present now; revise any lack by resting in that inner state for a few minutes.
