Abiding With God in Your Calling

1 Corinthians 7:24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 7 in context

Scripture Focus

24Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.
1 Corinthians 7:24

Biblical Context

Stay in the place of your current calling. Abide with God there, trusting His presence in that moment.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the verse as telling you: wherever your outer life places you, that is your throne room of God. Your call is not a date on a calendar but a state of consciousness you inhabit. If you are a clerk, mother, builder, or student, your true work is to awaken to the God within that now attends to this very situation. Abide with God means fix your attention on the I AM that is aware in this moment, and refuse to condemn the current environment as lacking. See it as the indwelling Christ refining your capacity by unhurried, faithful presence. The kingdom is not out there in future change; it is within, formed by the assumption and feeling of the completed act. When you dwell in the imagined state of your work well done, your outer circumstances close rank with your inner sense. Your fidelity to your present calling becomes your faith, and faith, not circumstance, writes the next page of your life.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Close your eyes and step into the feeling of your calling already fulfilled; repeat in the present tense, 'I am abiding with God right now, and my work aligns with the divine I AM.'
