Inner Judgment, Outer Life

1 Corinthians 6:3-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 6 in context

Scripture Focus

3Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
4If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
1 Corinthians 6:3-4

Biblical Context

Paul says we shall judge angels; if you must judge worldly matters, delegate to those least esteemed in the church. The outer disputes reveal inner habit patterns of mind.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within this text, the 'we' are the consciousness that claims dominion over all states. Angels are not distant beings, but the higher imaginal acts and dispositions we entertain within. The 'things pertaining to this life' are the petty quarrels and judgments of daily circumstance, which expose the deep habit patterns of the mind. When Paul says we shall judge angels, he is teaching that your inner life—your I AM awareness—has the sovereign power to discern the truth of every appearance. The real judge is not others or circumstance, but the state of consciousness you choose to dwell in. If you must render judgments on external matters, do so from the least esteemed within—lift up your own humility. Let the inner court, the quiet I AM, preside over any dispute, and revise what you call reality by assuming a superior state. By imagining yourself as the judge of inner angels, you align with the authority of God within; you awaken to the fact that your feelings and beliefs create your world.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe, and adopt the I AM as the sole judge in your inner courtroom; revise a troubling judgment by silently affirming, 'This appearance will align with the state I now occupy.'
