Temple Within: Your Sacred Body

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 6 in context

Scripture Focus

19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Biblical Context

The verse states that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, you are not your own, you were bought at a price, so you should glorify God with your body and spirit.

Neville's Inner Vision

See that the verse is a map of your inner states. The body is not a mere vessel but the visible stage on which the I AM, your true self, dwells as awareness. The Holy Ghost is the indwelling God within you, and to say you are not your own is to acknowledge that consciousness has rightful sovereignty over every thought, sensation, and choice. The price paid refers to the decision to stop acting from lack and fear and to begin acting from the certainty that God is resident in you now. When you acknowledge that you are bought with a price, you release the old idea of self ownership and align with the divine owner, who speaks through your heart and hands. In this light, every breath, every motion, every gesture becomes a worshipful response. Your body becomes a sanctuary you consciously maintain by the feeling of I AM presence. Practice seeing yourself as God’s property, and through imagination you will reveal your world as his glorious expression.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, place a hand on your chest, and assume, 'I AM the temple of God dwelling in this body.' Hold the sense of His presence until life itself reflects that truth.
