One Spirit Within: Joined to the Lord

1 Corinthians 6:17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 6 in context

Scripture Focus

17But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
1 Corinthians 6:17

Biblical Context

The verse declares that to be joined to the Lord is to be one spirit. Unity with God is an inner state of consciousness, not a distant achievement.

Neville's Inner Vision

To be joined unto the Lord is to awaken to the fact that the Lord is not a person outside you, but the I AM that you are perceiving as awareness. Paul points to a fusion of imagination and conviction, where the inner state and the outer world move as one stream. In this reading, the Lord is your present awareness—your own sense of I AM—through which all things are seen and future events are imagined. There is no separation to perform; there is only a shift in assuming that you and God are already one, a covenant loyalty to the truth within. The covenant is not a contract with an external deity but a commitment to your inner reality until it expresses itself as life. When you persist in that unity, you notice the world bending to the rhythm of one spirit: desires align, circumstances answer, and fear dissolves into trust. This is not manipulation; it is the recognition that your imagination is the visible form of God in you.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume you are already one spirit with the Lord; feel that unity as a present fact. Live from that state in every moment, letting it color your choices and perceptions.
