Within the Inner Kingdom

1 Corinthians 6:10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 6 in context

Scripture Focus

10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 6:10

Biblical Context

The verse names behaviors—thievery, covetousness, drunkenness, reviling, and extortion—as outward signs of inner states that block inheriting the Kingdom of God.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the awakened mind, these labels point not to distant judgments but to inner states of consciousness. Thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners are symbols of a mindset that believes itself separate from the I AM, lacking integrity, abundance, and true power. The Kingdom, then, is not a future destination but a present state inside you, awaiting recognition. When you identify with a self that covets what is not yours, or that attacks others, you close the door on the inner realm where God resides. In Neville’s terms, such acts reflect imaginative images that reinforce scarcity, conflict, and domination, thereby excluding the self from the Kingdom. The invitation is to revise these images until the names lose their power, and to affirm, I AM here and now; I inherit the Kingdom through my awakened consciousness. Persist in this reorientation, and the inner realm becomes tangible in your life, guiding the outer scene to harmonize with that truth.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume the self that already possesses the Kingdom by quietly repeating, I am the I AM, and I inherit the Kingdom now, until the sense of lack dissolves and this state becomes your immediate experience.
