Judging Within and Without
1 Corinthians 5:12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Corinthians 5 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul asks why he should judge outsiders and urges not to judge those inside. The real discernment happens in your inner state.
Neville's Inner Vision
Seek to hear the verse as a mirror of your own consciousness. The 'without' are only appearances in your inner theatre, reflections of a state you have not yet transfigured. The I AM within you—God-consciousness that you truly are—judges nothing but confirms the truth of your divine nature. When you feel a impulse to label or condemn another, you are not discerning them; you are confirming a separation you still entertain in your own mind. Rather than policing others, revise your inner premise: you already live in the holy presence, and every apparent outside is a movement within that you can transform by changing your state. By refusing to judge what seems outside, you allow the inner light to expand your awareness, and the outer world becomes a faithful echo of your revised consciousness. The whole matter is simply your own alignment with the I AM; when that alignment is steady, righteousness and justice flow from within you into every relationship. Realize you are not in the world to judge it, but to awaken in it.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, breathe, and revise a recent judgment about someone into compassionate understanding, affirming 'I am the I AM, and I judge not.' Imagine a circle of souls within your heart held in universal love, watching your inner state become clear and whole.
