Together With God: Inner Increase

1 Corinthians 3:5-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 3 in context

Scripture Focus

5Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
6I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
1 Corinthians 3:5-9

Biblical Context

Paul and Apollos are ministers through whom you believed; God gives the increase. We labour together with God, and we are His field and building.

Neville's Inner Vision

Paul and Apollos in your mind are not two separate figures contending for credit; they are two modes of belief through which you have awakened. The planting and watering are inner moves of thought, not external personalities. The true increase comes from God—the I AM within you, the life that makes possibility take form. When you submit to the idea that 'God giveth the increase,' you stop measuring value by who speaks and start measuring by the state you inhabit. You are not the mere instrument; you are the field, the builder, and the harvest. We labour together with God because the inner you does the work of faith, of trust, of humility. Your labor is alignment with the Divine flow, and your reward is the realization that you are already, here and now, the living expression of God’s building. Providence and guidance come as you rest in the truth that you and God are one; in that stillness, the structures you desire are formed by your own attentive imagination.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Assume the I AM as the active planter and grower in your mind. Then declare 'I and God are one' and feel the inner increase taking form.
