Inner Foundation of Christ Within

1 Corinthians 3:10-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 3 in context

Scripture Focus

10According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:10-11

Biblical Context

Paul says God’s grace has given him a foundation to stand on, and others may add to it; yet the only true foundation is Jesus Christ. In plain terms, your life rests on a single inner rock—your Christ-consciousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

See this: the grace of God given to me is the creative grant by which I lay the foundation of my life within. I, as the wise master-builder, point that foundation to the awareness I choose in this moment. And others may build upon it—my thoughts, my feelings, my circumstances—but I must take heed how I build thereupon. For there is no other foundation to set than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ, the Christ within me. The outer world cannot supplant this base; it can only reflect what I have conceived in consciousness. The phrase 'according to the grace of God' means I am not building from effort but from alignment with the I AM, the ever-present awareness. When I imagine from this rock, I invite consistent states, not flickering wishes. If fear arises, I revise it back to faith; if limitation appears, I reframe as possibility already real in spirit. My task is to dwell in and express the foundation until the other-building—my life—takes the shape of that inner covenant.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes. Assume the Christ within as your foundation and revise any uneasy thought until you feel it real.
