Inner Kingdom Awakening
1 Corinthians 2:8-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Corinthians 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage contrasts worldly rulers' ignorance with a hidden divine reality; true riches are prepared by God for those who love Him, not visible to the outer senses. Outer eyes and ears fail to grasp what awaits the lover of God.
Neville's Inner Vision
Read as a state of consciousness: the princes of this world are the habits of the mind clinging to appearances, the belief that power comes from what you can see, hear, and prove. If they knew the truth—the inner reality in which the Lord of glory dwells within your own I AM—they would not crucify Him in you or in any man; for the crucifixion represents a waking from assumption to awareness. Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him—these words point not to lack of vision but to misdirection: the real riches God has prepared exist as imaginal acts awaiting your realization. When you love God, you align with that inner plan; you yield to the sacred possibility that you are already the recipient of what you desire. Your senses do not define reality; your awareness does. The world’s ignorance is simply the mind's forgetfulness. The moment you re-root your attention in the I AM, the hidden things reveal themselves; not by force of circumstance, but by the inner truth you have chosen to accept as real.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, place a hand on your chest, and assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled by silently affirming I am the I AM, and God has prepared these things for me. Dwell in that inner reality until your heart and imagination feel the truth.
