1 Corinthians 2:8

Biblical Context

Paul notes that the worldly rulers did not understand a hidden spiritual truth. If they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Neville's Inner Vision

Here the apostle speaks of a mystery hidden from the rulers of this world. In Neville style, the princes or rulers are not merely people but states of mind—habits of control, fear, comparison, and separation—that would crucify the truth if believed known by them. The world did not know the inner reality because the inner reality had not yet been claimed by consciousness. The Lord of glory is not a person out there but the I AM that you are, the living light that makes all things. When this inner Lord is recognized, the seeming crucifixion dissolves into a symbolic crucible in which old beliefs are burnt away and a new knowing arises. The mystery is that this power already dwells within you, and the very act of knowing it transforms the outer world. Therefore the verse is not a historical admonition but an invitation to awaken to your own inner sovereignty. As you dwell in the awareness I AM, you reveal the truth that the princes of this world have never truly known, for they cannot, until you know it inside you.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly and assume I am the Lord of glory within; revise any belief that the rulers of the world know more than you do. Feel the inner light as real now and let outer events reflect that sovereignty.
