Biblical Context
Those bound to sense and outward appearances cannot grasp spiritual truths. True discernment belongs to the spiritual mind, which can judge everything yet is not judged by others, for we embody the mind of Christ.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the awakened mind, the natural man is the old self glued to senses; the things of the Spirit are not out there but inward realities discerned by a living, inner state. Since these truths are spiritual, they appear as foolishness to the unawakened, yet the self that is one with God can discern them. And because we are spiritual, we are able to judge all things in the light of a single principle, while the same mind that judges is not judged by any external authority. The question of knowing the mind of the Lord dissolves when you realize you already possess that mind as your own operating principle; you are not seeking it, you are it. The verse invites you to claim a unity between your inner I AM and Christ’s mind, so that every circumstance reveals your creative, inner decree. Your life becomes a theatre in which imagination is king: as you assume, revise, and feel it real, you align with the mind that knows, creating outward form from inward conviction.
Practice This Now
Assume you already think as Christ thinks about your present situation; feel the inner certainty that the mind of Christ guides you, and revise any doubt by declaring, I have the mind of Christ now.
