Inner Knowing by Spirit Within

1 Corinthians 2:11-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 2 in context

Scripture Focus

11For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
1 Corinthians 2:11-12

Biblical Context

As Paul says, only the spirit within a person knows their own things, and only the Spirit of God knows God’s things. We have received not the world’s spirit but God’s Spirit, to know the gifts freely given by God.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the economy of consciousness, the 'things of a man' are the motions of the surface mind; the 'things of God' are disclosed by the Spirit of God, the I AM within you. You are not left to the world's grey wisdom, for you have tapped a divine faculty—the Spirit—that knows what God freely gives. The Spirit of God is your inner perceiver, your innate discernment, your capacity to awaken to possibilities as real. Your task is not to seek God outside, but to shift your inner state until the inner knower recognizes the riches that are already yours: grace, favor, knowledge, and intuitive direction. By dwelling in the awareness that you possess this Spirit, you begin to recover the truths you have always had—the things freely given—through a trustful, imaginative recognition of your true state.

Practice This Now

1) In a quiet moment, declare silently: 'I am now one with the Spirit of God within me.' 2) Imagine a specific gift or outcome as already given and feel it as your present reality.
