Inner Victory Over Death

1 Corinthians 15:54-57 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 15 in context

Scripture Focus

54So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:54-57

Biblical Context

Paul declares that our mortal flesh will be clothed with incorruption, and death will be swallowed up in victory through Christ.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider this as a lesson in consciousness. The corruptible and the mortal are not foes but current states of mind. When you align with the truth that I AM, the real you, already contains incorruption and immortality, death is swallowed up in victory. The sting of death is sin—the stubborn habit of identifying yourself with limitation; the strength of sin is the law—the old, binding mental pattern. Yet the verse promises victory given by God through our Lord Jesus Christ, a testament that the power you seek is within you when you claim your highest self. By a daily revision—feeling as if you already are that self—you untangle old cords and awaken a new sense of life. Your present consciousness becomes the tomb and the tomb becomes the doorway; the resurrection is the moment you refuse fear and choose life, love, and power as your constant state.

Practice This Now

Assume the identity: I AM within me is life and immortality. Feel the breath as incorruptible energy and imagine stepping into your immortal state now.
