Earthly to Heavenly Image
1 Corinthians 15:45-49 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Corinthians 15 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage contrasts the first man, Adam, as a living soul with the last Adam, a quickening spirit, and calls us to bear the heavenly image rather than the earthly one.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of the two Adams as two modes of consciousness, not distant men. The first is the earthly, natural self, the living soul bound to sensation and form. The second is the Lord from heaven, the quickening Spirit, awakening when you notice the I AM within and revise your sense of self. As you dwell in the heavenly image, your inner life energizes your outer world; the body and circumstances reflect your inner state. You and your world are shaped by what you imagine and feel to be true. By acknowledging the inner Spirit as your life, you cease identifying with the earthy self and begin bearing the heavenly image. Resurrection becomes the waking of consciousness to a higher order of life, not a mere event, but an ongoing inner renewal that re-creates reality from the inside out.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, claim 'I am the quickening Spirit' and imagine you already bear the heavenly image; feel the inner life energize every cell and surrounding world.
