Inner Awakening: The Corinthian Call

1 Corinthians 15:33-34 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 15 in context

Scripture Focus

33Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
34Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
1 Corinthians 15:33-34

Biblical Context

Be not deceived by corrupting talk or social tone. Awake to righteousness and avoid sin by aligning with the God within.

Neville's Inner Vision

Be not deceived by the outward bandying of words or by the company you keep, for the 'evil communications' are not merely spoken syllables but the moods of your own consciousness that ripple through your life. When you accept any thought, belief, or social tone that denies your true nature, you dilute the measure of your good manners—your integrity and virtue—because you have allowed a lower vibration to govern your inner state. The command to 'awake to righteousness' is a turning of attention back to the I AM, the steady witness behind all thoughts. Sin is not a transgression of laws out there, but a misalignment within: you forget your divine identity and cling to images born of fear, separation, and lack. Some have not the knowledge of God—meaning they have not consulted the Self within, not realized that God is your own awareness. This is spoken to your shame only as a prompt to rise, not as a condemnation. Decide now that your inner atmosphere is the source of all you experience; re-create it by assuming your righteous state and letting it feel real.

Practice This Now

Practice: Sit quietly and declare, 'I am awake to righteousness; I am one with the I AM.' Then picture your surroundings filled with uplifting conversations that reinforce your sacred state, until it feels real to you.
