Inner Authority Now: Corinthians 14:36-38

1 Corinthians 14:36-38 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 14 in context

Scripture Focus

36What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
37If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
38But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
1 Corinthians 14:36-38

Biblical Context

Paul questions whether the word came from the audience or was for them all, then declares his writings are the Lord’s commandments, and ends by noting ignorance has its place.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within your awareness, the word of God is not a distant echo but the living commandment you awaken to as I AM. When you claim yourself as a prophet or spiritual, you are simply recognizing the alignment that already rules your inner state. The verse invites you to own that what I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord—i.e., the truths you accept within become your outer world. If you call yourself ignorant, you may remain so, but this is not a judgment on you; it is a reminder that ignorance is a temporary choice of a mind unsettled by distraction. The authority of Paul’s teaching becomes the authority of your own consciousness when you acknowledge that all words of guidance are the Lord’s words within you, commandments that shape your feeling, belief, and action. The outer becomes obedient when the inner state is obedient to the I AM. Live today as if the inner commandment already stands fulfilled, and watch the surrounding scene shift to match.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: For 5 minutes, sit quietly, assume the state that the inner commandment is already fulfilled, and feel the truth as your own. Then proceed in that certainty.
