From Part to Perfect Knowing

1 Corinthians 13:9-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 13 in context

Scripture Focus

9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
1 Corinthians 13:9-12

Biblical Context

Our knowing and prophesying are currently partial; a complete, unified awareness will come and dissolve the partial.

Neville's Inner Vision

In Neville's (psychological) lens, the ‘we know in part’ and ‘we prophesy in part’ reflect a present state of consciousness you are freely inhabiting. The word ‘perfect’ is not a distant event but the rise of a higher I AM within you—your complete awareness, already God’s. As you continuously imagine and affirm that wholeness, the partial dissolves, and the glass darkly clears. The childish self clings to lack and separation; the mature you sees through inner revelation, not outer proof. Prophecy and knowledge originate from the same source: your innate imagination. When you picture a problem resolved as if it already is, you are not forecasting the future; you are claiming your present state of complete awareness. Treat each moment as a revision of self, express gratitude for the realized state, and let that certainty anchor your days in the I AM that you are.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and affirm 'I AM the perfect presence now.' Then, in a 1–2 minute window, revise a current limitation by imagining the completed state as already true.
