Inner Charity Beyond Prophecy

1 Corinthians 13:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 13 in context

Scripture Focus

2And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:2

Biblical Context

Paul says that even the most dazzling spiritual gifts mean nothing without love. Charity is the inner disposition that makes knowledge and faith alive.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the consciousness that claims the gift of prophecy, mysteries, and mountains-moving faith lies another fact: charity. The saints who speak with splendor yet refuse love discover they are nothing, for charity is the active reality behind every vision. I tell you that God, the I AM, does not move mountains to prove itself, but to wake you to the living presence of love within. When you rest in the feeling that you are one with all beings, the very essence of your awareness expands into charity; your words and deeds become fruit of a living I AM, not ornaments of a vanishing self. The world of form is but the echo of your inner disposition. If your imagination is wrapped in self-importance or fear, prophecy serves you nothing. But when your awareness itself is love, mysteries unfold as natural expressions of your inner state. You are not measured by what you declare you know, but by the tenderness you carry.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Assume the feeling 'I am Charity now' and let a sense of unity saturate your mind; revise any image of separation until love becomes your true state. Feel it-real by breathing into your heart and declaring I AM Love in action.
