From Partial to Perfect

1 Corinthians 13:10-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 13 in context

Scripture Focus

10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
1 Corinthians 13:10-12

Biblical Context

The verse says that when the complete state of consciousness comes, partial understanding passes away. For now we see dimly, but then we will know fully.

Neville's Inner Vision

I tell you, the 'perfect' is not a distant event but a state of consciousness you can assume now. When you assume that you are the complete I AM, the partial you has nothing to cling to and dissolves into wholeness. The childish self—spouting fear or clever rectifications—recedes as you refuse to identify with it. Now you see through a glass darkly because you are gazing from a limited mental image; later you will face truth eye to eye, and your knowing will be unmasked, not by evidence outside but by the inward certainty you have claimed. The coming of the perfect is inner transition, not outer change; it requires a revision of your sense of self, a steady feeling of I AM as your only reality. As you persist in this assumption, what you hope for comes forth, and you begin to know as you are known—freed from partial sight into unity with the divine I AM.

Practice This Now

Sit with eyes closed and assume the finished state: I AM complete. Whisper, 'I am the perfect now,' and feel that consciousness replacing every doubt.
