Charity as Inner Power
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Corinthians 13 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Outward gifts and impressive powers are hollow without charity. True potency arises only when love governs every inner motive.
Neville's Inner Vision
Charity, in this verse, is not a sentiment to be earned by performing or believing. It is the I AM that animates every act; without it, even the most dazzling abilities become empty clang and noise. When you declare you have tongues to allure men or angels and yet lack charity, you are like sounding brass because the vibration has no substance in consciousness. Likewise, prophecy, mysteries, knowledge, and mountain-moving faith hold no real weight without charity, for faith without love is merely a power without direction. Charity is the inner disposition that renders all gifts useful, because it aligns every gesture with the unity of life and the good of all. The real power lies in perceiving yourself as the I AM expressing as compassion, forgiveness, and grace. As you inhabit that inner state, external conditions are not the cause of your sense of fulfillment but the outward expression of your inner agreement with love. Practice turning your attention inward, and watch how your words, choices, and actions take on a new harmony that heals and elevates.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and declare, 'I am charity now,' feeling a warm expansion in the chest. Then revise any judgment into a loving response, letting that inner I AM color your next action.
