The More Excellent Way Of Love
1 Corinthians 12:31 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Corinthians 12 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul tells you to earnestly desire the best gifts, yet he points to a more excellent way. That way is love, the inner state that shapes all expression.
Neville's Inner Vision
Paul speaks of desiring the best gifts, yet his 'more excellent way' is not a new object to chase but a new state to inhabit. Coveting, in this light, is simply the imagination waking to a future possibility; the superior path, however, is the realization that Love—your I AM awareness in action—already animates every act. When you imagine yourself as the source of grace, wisdom, and healing, you are not seeking power apart from yourself; you are returning to the one creator within. The inner feeling of Love turns attention away from lack toward fulfillment, and the outer world follows suit. Your gifts cease to be trophies and become expressions of an inner center that does not fear, resist, or doubt. So you practice by assuming the reality of Love now: feel Love as your very being, say ‘I am Love,’ and let that state fill your mind until it radiates through your words, deeds, and circumstances. The more excellent way is thus a discipline of consciousness, through which any gift you desire is drawn forth as a natural outflow of your perfected inner life.
Practice This Now
Practice by assuming you already possess the highest gift: Love. Sit quietly, repeat 'I am Love' until the feeling of your I AM saturates every fiber of your being and begins to color your world.
