Inner Gifts by Will
1 Corinthians 12:10-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Corinthians 12 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul lists gifts such as miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, and interpretation as the Spirit's gifts, given by one Spirit and distributed as He wills.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider the list in the one body of God as a map of your inner possibilities. The 'working of miracles,' 'prophecy,' 'discerning of spirits,' 'tongues' and 'interpretation' are not distant happenings, but faculties of consciousness blooming in your own awareness. The clause that all these work by the one Spirit, 'dividing to every man severally as he will,' is not a command about others; it is a reminder that you, the I AM, decide which facets of your being you awaken and where you focus your attention. In this light, the gifts are the diverse voices of your inner state, each appearing as you align with a particular state of consciousness. The many forms do not contradict one another; they coexist within the same living I AM, revealed as you hold a definite inner assumption. When you stop seeking outward signs and instead assume the truth of your absolute awareness, you become the vessel through which that Spirit manifests as healing, guidance, or understanding. Your task is to awaken the state that corresponds to the gift you desire, and let the inner movement complete the rest.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise: I am the I AM; I distribute gifts to myself as I will. Feel the reality of that state now by dwelling in it for a few breaths.
