1 Corinthians 11:33-34

Biblical Context

Paul urges communal care and order during meals, warning against condemnation by keeping attention on the whole body.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the verse as a map of the inner council. When you 'come together to eat,' you are really gathering the I AM in its many manifestations. The hunger you feel is not merely for food but for unity—an inner hunger that longs to see yourself as one with your brothers and sisters. 'Tarry one for another' invites you to rest in the awareness that you and they are one living thought, that separation is a dream in which you revise with the power of attention. If any man hunger, let him eat at home, not to deny nourishment but to soften judgment; use appetite as a cue to revise the sense of lack in your mind and to celebrate inner abundance. 'That ye come not together unto condemnation' points to the inner condemnation you cast on yourself and others; replace it with love and discernment. 'And the rest will I set in order when I come' means your inner governor will align outward conditions as you keep faith in the united I AM. Your task is to dwell in that unity now, and order follows.

Practice This Now

Before your next gathering, close your eyes and affirm, "I AM one with all present; I tarry for them in this I AM." Revise any sense of separation into communion, and feel the order already established within.
