1 Corinthians 11:16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 11 in context

Scripture Focus

16But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
1 Corinthians 11:16

Biblical Context

Verse 11:16 asserts that if anyone is contentious, there is no such custom among the churches of God, signaling unity beyond dispute.

Neville's Inner Vision

Contention is a misalignment within your own consciousness. When Paul says we have no such custom, he invites you to discard the habitual arguing as a relic of the old self. The churches of God are not merely external assemblies but your inner congregation of I AM, the unity of your divine awareness. To reinterpret, choose a state in which harmony is the natural movement of your mind; cast aside the worn garment of dispute. See others as expressions of the one I AM, not as opponents. The moment you stop measuring others by their opinions and stand as whole in God, your outer world rearranges to reflect that inner harmony. Let this verse be a practice of revision: claim that contention has no place in your heart’s community, and observe the inner congregation respond in kind as the churches of God.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, place a hand on your heart, and affirm: I assume the state of peaceful unity; there is no custom of contention in my inner church. Stay with the feeling until it is real.
