1 Corinthians 11:1-2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Corinthians 11 in context

Scripture Focus

1Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
2Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.
1 Corinthians 11:1-2

Biblical Context

Paul invites imitation of his example as he follows Christ. He asks you to remember his teachings and keep the ordinances delivered to you.

Neville's Inner Vision

Paul's invitation to imitate him, as he imitates Christ, becomes an invitation to live in a state of consciousness that already embodies your aim. Paul is the outer example of a disciplined mind; Christ is the inner reality your I AM awakens into awareness. To 'remember me in all things' is to keep the feeling of your desired state present, to rehearse the inner teachings as living laws. 'Keep the ordinances' becomes a revision of your inner habits—assume the state, revise any doubt, and feel it real until it is outwardly seen. Obedience here is allegiance to your own higher self, not to external rules; it is the faithful application of imagination and faith that the inner word is law. The result is a holiness—a felt separation from the old you—because you have chosen a new inner state and refuse to feed conflicting thoughts. When you persist, the inner Christ works through your consciousness, and the world yields to your faithful believing.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine you are already living the state you desire, then rehearse the inner ordinance as a felt truth. Revise doubt by affirming, 'I am the I AM within me, remembering and keeping the teachings.'
