Inner Lust, Inner Purity: 1 Corinthians 10:6
1 Corinthians 10:6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 1 Corinthians 10 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
These examples were given to warn us not to lust after evil things. They show how inner desires, if unchecked, lead to harm.
Neville's Inner Vision
Now these things are not outside events but states of consciousness that your I AM can inhabit. The lust of those old stories is a pattern of craving that your imagination has rehearsed until it seems real. The verse is a teacher telling you to observe your inner pictures and not identify with them. When you catch yourself desiring what you call evil, you are only seeing a memory image your mind has entertained. You can choose a different inner scene and, by maintaining a feeling of its truth, shift your life toward it. The inner kingdom is yours to command by bold assumption: feel the purity as a present fact; act from the end you desire, not from the craving. These examples are meant to wake you to consciousness, not to condemn you. If you live as if you already are the purified you, your outer world will reflect that inner state. Imagination is the workshop; attention is the anvil; change your inner cast and the form of your life follows.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: For the next 5 minutes, close your eyes, inhale, and repeat the self-affirming scene: I am pure, I am free from craving, I am the I AM. See yourself moving through the day with that inner state intact, letting your choices align.
